Our Little Bit of Big Guy

See that big belly? Doesn't it make you grin? It sure does us over here. He weighs as much as his (skinny) 5 year old sister but heavens, to pick him up, you'd think he weighed a full ton.

Despite all the pictures of his food smeared face, he doesn't consume as much as you would think. Certainly not enough to account for that Pooh size belly. He's had a few rough weeks with no desire for food, sleep, or play. He finally seems to be returning to the old "Zyley". Praise the Lord. We've dearly missed the little guy.

During our Costco shopping last week, the poor little guy just could not get control of his emotions. In a desperate attempt to comfort him, so we could quickly finish our shopping and get back home, I dug out the only remaining pacifier (it's been about 2 weeks) that I hid in the depths of my bag. I handed it to him and he instantly quietened down. He looked at it, turned it over and over in his chubby little hand, and then proceeded to just hold it. Then he saw the enormous tub of pretzels in the bottom of the cart, gave me the paci back, and "asked/grunted" for a pretzel. The end of the paci days. : )

He is just adorable. I have a chunky one (#6). Who is almost as big as his very skinny older brother. It amazes me how all my kids are different sizes. I remember having some times I was desperate for a passy too but couldn't find one. I was wondering about the difference in Costco and Sams. I shop at Sams and my Mom adds me to her membership because she works at WalMart but I was thinking about getting a membership at Costco but didn't know if the drive there and the price would be worth it for me once a month. We have quite a few to feed so I would like to shop more in bulk. Are you a Cosco over Sams shopper?

Hi Missy. I have found it so amusing even in the small number of children that we have how completely different they can be built. We have Maggie who is tall and thin, Emma who is tall but "squishy", Zion who is short and stout, and Katie who is so petite. And one's blond, one's brownish, one's red, and one's fuzzy red. It's amazing how different they can be.

As for Sam's vs Costco, last year I did a thorough store and cost analysis before joining Costco. For one, Costco is in GA so the taxes are much cheaper and when buying in bulk that matters. Costco has more organic stuff. As for price, most things were cheaper or the same at Costco. Cheese and boneless skinless chicken breast were cheaper at Sams. We have never had a negative experience at Costco. : )
