24 Weeks

Finally a baby belly picture. Yes I had to resort to standing on a stool in the bathroom and taking it myself. Oh well, at least I have a good photo of baby #5 at 24 weeks. If I want baby belly records I need to resort to this more often.

I went for my check up yesterday. I took the one hour glucose test. The phone remains by my side in anticipation of "that dreaded phone call". Who knows. Maybe this time I will actually pass the one hour. We'll see. The baby's heartbeat was good and I have no clue what my fundal (I hate that word) height was. I forgot to ask. I am currently weighing 133 in the mornings and about 135 at night. My MW, dear sweet lady, informed me that since I started out so underweight that I should gain at least 35 pounds. Uh, no thank you. : ) But she did say that she is very straightforward with patients about gaining too much weight and she was not the least concerned with my weight. In fact she thought me on the skinny side. See, now you know why I continue to go to her. *wink*

This baby's movements are so different than Katie's. Katie liked kicks and jabs and sharp pointy painful movements at this stage. This baby apparently prefers flips and flops. Its more rolls and flops with her. I've only felt an elbow or foot slide across my belly one time.  My MW wanted to know if Katie was an active rough little girl. Oh if she only knew. Gentle is not Katie's nature.

I've really no complaints at this stage. My varicose veins are horrendous, mostly looks but my right foot continues to be a bother. I got a tincture and a lotion in the mail yesterday that I intend on trying out and seeing if I see any improve. Tinctures and I do not get along. I'm doing a terrible job of drinking my daily water but I am doing well on exercising at least 20 minutes a day. That about sums up week 24. Hopefully I won't be back with news about my glucose test.

Okay, I don't want to hear any more about how you're gaining so much weight. You look so tiny!! I look like a whale compared to you, and I haven't gained as much this time as I usually do. So glad you haven't gotten any calls about your glucose test. Praying it stays that way!

There are 20 extra pounds there. As always, I look bigger in person. I need to remind myself of that when I'm looking at others belly pictures. Lol. You'll see the size difference when we get together next. I'm waiting to see about my call back about my glucose test before I email you about getting together.
