Despite my lack of interest in blogging and my disdain for poor quality pictures, which seems to be all we have any more, I refuse to let our memories fade away into the recess of my bad memory.
Our days here have been of norm. Laundry, cooking, schooling, playing, growing.....
We've started a few new disciplines in homeschooling. We'll see how well I do at keeping them up. Maggie is finished with Saxon 1 (only took us 18 months of extreme inconsistent lessons, lol) and we are spending some time using Math U See Beta. We have been doing lessons in All About Spelling and focusing on Cursive for handwriting. We're having lots of reversal problems with print.
We've had crazy weather. Rain and 60 degree days and ice and freezing the next. I've done well on my goals for January. I've been walking via video every day for 20 minutes, sometimes 2 segements of 20 minutes split up. We deep cleaned the washing machine and called about the repair. The lady on the phone was able to offer me a quick a suggestion which instantly worked. Hooray! We've made a few healthy snacks, including the No Bake Healthy Bites (which probably aren't so healthy if you eat 4 or 5 at a time, just saying).
We celebrated my mom's 71st birthday. She came over Thursday on her birthday and the kiddos and I took her to lunch at our favorite local diner. We ended the meal with handmade Orange fanta vanilla milkshakes. We had her birthday party yesterday after church. Upon Maggie's request we had our traditional celebration meal of ribs, corn, chips, and green beans. For a cake we used the insanely good chocolate sheet cake recipe from the Pioneer Woman (doesn't help that I read this article this morning....guilt, this is a struggle of mine anyway)
Afgter a super heavy lunch, Jeremy took the sugar laden kiddos for a 2 hour adventure walk around our tiny town. I hung at home with Katie while she took her nap. I did my walking via video and even had time to do some planning for week. Woo-hoo. I love planning. : )

Sounds like a good and productive month! I need to try those healthy no bake things. And the pretzels. And the chocolate cake. :)
